Reactionary Radicalism: An Old Rant Revisited

Sat Sep 16, 2006 at 11:41:59 AM PDT

(It's been almost a year since I first wrote this rant; Sydney Blumenthal's recent publication, How Bush Rules: Chronicles of a Radical Regime, combined with the ever-increasing "heat" I have been feeling on a real-world, professional level in reactionary response to my radical writings on the Internet and elsewhere have prompted me to revisit this piece and re-post it at MyLeftWing)

This diary is inspired by a couple of things, things that have been brewing in me for many years--my whole life, actually--but most recently drawn to the surface by my third reading of an article by Bernice Johnson Reagon, based on a talk she gave at the West Coast Women's Music Festival at Yosemite National Forest in 1981, titled "Coalition Politics: Turning the Century."

On my third reading of the article, I felt suddenly compelled to read it aloud, and as I  was reading, my voice became stronger, clearer. Whether it got louder or not, I don't know.

Another "Trail of Tears"- Diary? (Give it a rest, babe!).

(somehow I just can't seem to part with this screenname. Don't know why. For the record: this is Lilian M. Friedberg, aka Stark(ravinglunaticradical), reporting from her Hobbit Hole in the Hood. Thanks to all who listen with open ears, attentive eyes, compassionate hearts, and honest minds.)

Dare to Listen? Dare to Hear?
Do you dare to do something?
Or don't you dare,
to care?

The Personal Is Political

(guess it's been a while, folks; and you'll see I've decided to take some of your advice: and that of others--among other things--with many thanks to the whole dKos community, I have decided to drop the 'veil of anonymity' and begin blogging under my own name; I will be closing the "starkravinglunaticradical" account and posting, if at all, under my own name. This diary is a follow-up to previous posts on this forum; CrossPosted at MyLeftWing).

At long last: Stark's GBCW Diary

After all the bandwidth and brouhaha that has been expended in this community over the author of this post, I hope members of this community will allow me one final word.

I sincerely apologize for blowing up the blog. It was not my intent--and I know there will be many who will refuse to believe that. Please, you've had your say. Do me the courtesy of ignoring me, and I will do the same to you.

This diary is addressed primarily to the 114 posters who recommended the now infamous 2,500 words that unleashed the "Stark Wars"--and to all those who sought to extinguish the flames as they spiraled out of control.

I have since established my own blog because obviously, I need a cyberpadded cell of my own:
